An NVR (network video recorder) records footage from IP/PoE security cameras. Cameras connect over ethernet cabling, with PoE carrying power and data on one cable.
The Standard Stellar Recorder
The standard Stellar recorder is a 4K 8-channel PoE NVR, as in the standard 4-camera package.
How Many Cameras Can an 8-Channel Recorder Cover?
An 8-channel recorder covers up to 8 cameras: cameras five through eight plug into the same recorder, with no new recorder hardware beyond the add-on cameras themselves.
Nine cameras and up need a 16-channel NVR, which is custom-quote territory.
Playback, Remote Viewing and Setup
Footage can be played back and viewed remotely through the system’s app. Recording settings, schedules, and backups are configured at setup.
Adding to an Existing System
If a property already has a system, compatibility is assessed before adding or upgrading recording equipment.
